DRI's Research Foundation and the University and Community College System of Nevada Board of Regents unanimously approved seven new trustees in mid-December, buoying the size of the foundation as well as its diverse strengths. The foundation welcomes the following:

Selma Bartlett, executive vice president/regional president of BankWest of Nevada. Bartlett has been a banker in Henderson, Nev., for 48 years, and is a member of the management, strategic planning, loan and human resource committees at BankWest. |

J.L. "Skylo" Dangler, owner and director of sales, Red Hawk Golf Course in Wingfield Springs. Dangler of Sparks, Nev., is a real estate broker licensed in both Nevada and California with 40 years of residential and commercial construction, leasing and management experience. |

Terry Van Noy, principal, Van Noy Consulting Group. Van Noy's firm provides management consulting services for the insurance, health care and employee benefits industries. He rejoins the foundation board after previously serving two terms and two years as chairman. |

Dr. David Dilcher, graduate research professor, Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida. Dilcher is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and since receiving his doctorate degree in biology and geology from Yale University, has studied angiosperm evolution, the origin of flowers and the reproductive biology of the first flowering plants. |

Thomas Gallagher, P.E., P.L.S., president and chief executive officer, Summit Engineering Corp. Gallagher's 30 years of expertise in engineering include the permitting, design and completion of hundreds of projects throughout Nevada. Ongoing and successfully completed projects by Summit Engineering Corp. include the Lawton-Verdi Sanitary Sewer Inceptor, Alturas Power Line and Boomtown Hotel/Casino Expansion, as well as thousands of housing units and several million square feet of industrial and commercial projects. |

Dr. Raymond Nash, Jr., private consultant, Andover, Mass. Nash brings to the foundation 40 years' experience working with the U.S. Department of Defense, Imagery Intelligence and Mapping, Charting and Geodesy communities as well as a doctorate in engineering and applied science from Yale University. Technology assessment, strategic and tactical planning, and proposal writing and review are just some of the services he offers as a private consultant. |

Richard Normington, senior consultant, Meridian Business Advisors, Reno, Nev. Normington is also an instructor for graduate and undergraduate business for the University of Phoenix, Reno campus, an advisory board member for the California Summer School for Math and Science and board member for the Marshall McLuhan Center for Global Communications. He spent 30 years with Pacific Bell before retiring as public sector vice president. |
"I am really pleased to welcome these new members as each brings more diversity to our foundation," says David Fulstone II, foundation chair. "They are from all over the country and bring different talents to share, which strengthens the entire foundation. I look forward to working with them in the upcoming year."
The foundation also announced that Hal Furman has been elevated to emeritus trustee status. "Emeritus" is an honorary title bestowed at the end of exemplary service, and Furman has been awarded this honor by the DRI Research Foundation for his service in Nevada and Washington, D.C. on behalf of the foundation.
