Board of Regents Approves New Trustees for DRI Research
Foundation
Ten
new trustees were recently appointed to the board of the
DRI Research Foundation. The new board members were approved
by the Board of Regents of the University and Community
College System of Nevada at its December 6, 2001 meeting.
The new foundation
members include Lou Emmert, vice president and general
manager of Sprint, Las Vegas; Dr. Jamie A. Grodsky, associate
professor of law, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis,
Minnesota; Fred Hamilton, publisher of the Reno Gazette-Journal,
Reno; Walter M. Higgins III, chairman of the board, president
and chief executive officer of Sierra Pacific Resources,
Reno and Las Vegas; James J. Komadina, president and chief
executive officer of AngloGold North America, Inc., Englewood,
Colorado; Kenneth G. Ladd, U.S. Bank's state president
for Nevada, Las Vegas; D. Warner North, president and
principal scientist for NorthWorks, Inc., and consulting
professor in Stanford University's Department of Management
Science and Engineering, Belmont, California; Dr. Lee
J. Suttner, professor of geological sciences, Indiana
University, Bloomington, Indiana; Troy E. Wade, chairman
of the Nevada Alliance for Defense, Energy and Business,
and retired former deputy manager of the U.S. Department
of Energy's Nevada Operations Office, Las Vegas; retired
attorney John R. Worthington, former senior vice president
of MCI Corporation, Washoe County, Nevada.
Former Nevada First Lady Sandy Miller, of Las Vegas, and
Lyon County Commissioner and Nevada agricultural industry
leader David Fulstone II were named co-vice chairs of
the DRI Research Foundation. Health care consultant Terry
Van Noy, of Las Vegas, continues as the Foundation's chair.
