DRI faculty played an active role collaborating with the President and other institutional leaders to shape DRI's future. The first goal of the reorganization plan is to "recruit and retain the highest quality faculty," and the new interdisciplinary science centers have been designed to attract top faculty talent to solve some of society's most pressing environmental problems. Currently, DRI faculty and staff hold 90 doctorates, 85 masters, and 120 bachelors degrees in more than 50 fields of study. The sampling of faculty here illustrates the Institute's broad-based expertise.
