Long-time DRI supporter and former Research Foundation trustee Jerry Cail was awarded the DRI Presidentıs Medal at the DRI golf tournament. "Jerry Cail founded the tournament," observes DRI President Stephen G. Wells, "so it was an appropriate place to make the presentation." In addition to the golf tournament, which has become an important fundraiser for the Institute, Wells notes that Cail has also supported DRI's Nevada Medal Dinners and the Institute's Annual Fund. He served a three-year term on the DRI Research Foundation. In presenting the award, Dr. Claudia Miner, DRI's executive director for institutional advancement, read the inscription: "Presented to Jerry Cail to honor his determination, leadership, inspiration, and generosity in support of DRI." She also noted that Cail and his wife, Judy, were "two of the most generous people in terms of time and support that DRI has ever had the pleasure to meet." The Presidentıs Medal is DRI's highest non-scientific honor and is equivalent to the honorary doctorates awarded by the teaching campuses of the University and Community College System of Nevada. Cail is the fifth recipient, joining former Nevada First Lady Sandy Miller, DRI Foundation emerita trustees Countess Angela Dandini and Elizabeth West Stout, and Senator Harry Reid.
