DRI kicked off its 1996-1997 Annual Fund in September with a new theme and a new goal for the year. Asking our supporters to "Grow With Us," the institute is hoping to surpass last year's total of $102,000. This year's effort is occurring at a very exciting time for DRI. In early 1997, we will be breaking ground for our new Northern Nevada Science Center in the Dandini Research Park in Reno. This year, we are conducting our first in-service high school teacher training programs designed to share our research with other educators, and in June, we will begin a series of international multidisciplinary symposia, with the first focusing on the availability and use of limited water resources.

Of course, there are price tags attached to these activities. Supporting the Annual Fund will help us plant the seeds today to ensure the institute's continued success, now and in the future. If you haven't already contributed to the Annual Fund, simply enclose your donation in the envelope inserted in this issue of dri news - and come grow with us!

Thanks to those who have given to the 1996-1997 Annual Fund as of November 1, 1996:
